Effective Public Speaking

Treats public speaking not as a talent but as a professional skill acquired through preparation. The course begins with defining purpose, analysing the audience, preparing with data and structuring a talk as introduction, body and conclusion; through style, expression and the cost of ambiguity it connects to aviation's own communication rules.

In its second half students work practically on voice, body language, use of the stage, managing speech anxiety and designing visual support. The term closes with persuasion and handling objections, listening and feedback, meetings, briefings and negotiation, and speaking in public including crisis communication. All examples, case studies and exercises are drawn from the aviation sector; as a term project each student delivers a presentation on an aviation topic.
