Diction and Announcements

Combines the correct use of the voice with the management of announcements as a service process in aviation. The course begins with breathing, articulation, the pronunciation rules of Turkish, stress, intonation and pauses, and extends to effective speaking and professional presentation.

In its second half the perspective shifts from individual skill to the managerial level: announcement systems and the chain of responsibility, the writing and standardisation of announcement texts, corporate voice, multilingualism and accessibility, cabin and airport announcements, and communication in irregular situations. Through a term project, students prepare an announcement handbook for an airline or an airport.
